DIY-Bleach your Jeans!

Inspired by a very creative Instagram account @DIY_KWT, I decided I would do one of the pictures' ideas! You can find it HERE

Before you start bleaching, read these tips carefully;

  • ALWAYS wear gloves, it's not save for the bleach to touch your skin.
  • Wear something old while doing it, bleach might stain on your clothes.
  • do NOT do it in your bedroom, bleach's smell is horrible.

And now, enjoy xo

The process:
Step #1 Find an old pair of jeans you have.

Step #2 Get a spray bottle and a bottle of bleach.  Make sure you get the original bleach, at the beginning I used another brand and it didn't bleach the jeans.

Step #3 START SPRAYING! Begin with the bottom of your jeans and go up.  Remember, it's ombre, so the further you go up try to reduce the spraying.

You can notice the process of bleaching in the previous images.

Step #4 Leave it over night to dry out. This is the result that you will get!

I strongly recommend hand-washing the pair of jeans before throwing them in the washing machine.

I enjoyed doing it, I hope you do too!

Bob Marley's Peice

I know I have been away for a while -my apologies- But the university work I have is unbelievable! It's stressing me a lot and I have no time to sketch nor express my thoughts.

YET, a while ago I have tweeted a challenge to myself; "@Meerwa: Try to draw a tonal drawing with one pencil? Challenge accepted." And I really started it, but I didn't get the chance to finish it.

I didn't take my time to choose the one pencil I'll use to draw, I closed my eyes and picked one. (Challenge's rule)

Due to being away, I want to make it up by posting some pictures of the progress.

Enjoy.

My base sketches are messy!

Let's do this!

The pencil I used! -It's not one of the fancy ones, though-

And this is were I reached!
That's it for now, I hope I get some free time to finish it.
Wish me luck!

Marilyn Monroe CD piece

Being a part of Youth City 2030's volunteers gave me a chance to express my creativity.

We had an art week and our team were responsible of the activities and the week themes. Each team member was in charge of an activity; mine was to use some of our daily uses to create an art piece.

At first, I was given a black board, some floppies and spray paint. I tried to work it out, but I thought of a better idea. I took 4 black boards and taped them together. Then, I replaced the floppies with CDs, because they are easier to find.

The first stage of the process is to draw the art piece I wanted to create, I directly thought of Marilyn Monroe. I took a pencil, started drawing her face from a pop art piece I found in Google. I laid on the board several times and sat on it to get it right. Lol!

When I finished drawing her, everyone thought it's the final look, no one ever thought that the piece contains CDs.

Then the process to ask for more CDs began. Due to the laziness of people, I had a hard time collecting unwanted CDs from people. Later on, I saw this huge amount of CDs in my brother's room! I don't know whether I shall I call it stealing or borrowing... I guess it was stealing... -woops!-

The next step is to stick the CDs on the board -using flat paper tape- and re-drawing Marilyn Monroe using white-board pens.

And that's when I received a lot of bad words about it; "I liked it better before" or "It's not clear enough" or "You just messed it up" I got devastated at first, but I ignored them; cause this is just the beginning.

Then, I started putting the flat paper tape again to spray the CDs with the wanted colors.

I remember a lot people still didn't know what I was doing! I changed the background to green. I didn't feel like "Orange". When I sprayed them, I used white glue to stick them on the board. Also, I remember wanting to give up the piece; because I only had 5 days to finish it and the spraying stage started on the 3rd day, the spray paints were running out and they wouldn't buy me new ones because of the low budget -lies-. Eventually, they bought me more...

I jumped up and down when I saw the final piece! It felt great to finish something I never thought I would achieve. Some told me her nose looks like a mustache and others told me her teeth looks weird. SCREW IT I FINISHED MY MARILYN MONROE PIECE! Yes, I still get excited when I say it!

This is me with the piece -Notice the size difference-.

That's it for now, I hoped you enjoyed it!

A blog makeover.. A Fresh & new start!

So lately I've been loaded with university's assignments and projects, that's when I decided to dedicate my Blog to Art!

You may wonder how.. Ok, so I've always been passionate about art, it is always my best way to explain something to me -beside writing- but because of the pressured time I've been having lately, I didn't have time to sketch something. And that's one of the reasons why I want to devote my blog to it. Plus, It would change my blog a little bit, I've noticed how dead it is in the past.. Um a month now? I want to have a purpose to it, and to make my writing useful. Therefore, I'll be using the most two things I love in my blog. I'll definitely try to post as much as I can, as soon as I get a piece done. And when I do, I'll mention the 5 W's -What, When, Where, Why, Who-

A special THANK YOU to my friend Halfadhel for backing me up with this decision.

So, yes this is what I'd call "A Blog Makeover"

That's it for now!

Abs!

Two days ago, I was surfing on Youtube -as usual- and I found this video of 7 tips to a flat stomach in 7 days!

I've watched it and decided to do this schedule of my own for the upcoming week -which is this week that we're having now-.

I'll summarize you the video in 7 points here.

Tip #1 ALWAYS drink water. You should drink water before your meal and after your meal.

Tip #2 To get a flat stomach, exercises are a must. Go ahead and do some abs exercises, 5 exercises -at least- a day won't harm!

Tip #3 Make sure you eat your dinner early. It is not recommended to eat a meal and sleep in less than 4 hours. The food needs to digest and while your body is asleep, you wont burn any calories. Instead, it will turn into fat.

Tip #4 Wear tight clothes. This tip might sound weird but when you do wear tight clothes, you'll have to suck your stomach which will help the abs grow stronger.

Tip #5 AVOID wheat and sugar. Of course, these two take most of the body fat percentage. Try to cut them out a little and find some alternatives.

Tip #6 Whatever you eat, it shouldn't be larger than a fist's size. Your stomach is as the fist's size, and eating more than that amount may lead your stomach to stretch. That would lead to craving more food, and eventually you'll never stop eating. So, DON'T eat larger than a fist's size.

Lastly, tip #7 Every once in a while, you should do a "Liquid Diet". What's that? Liquid diet is when you eat nothing all day long but liquids. such as soup, juices, water .. ect. But don't torture yourself with it, don't cause yourself  health problems. This tip is recommended to be done EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE not daily.

Today is my second day for this routine. I hope it turns out well.

Now I will provide you with some of the exercises I do and found online.

V-Up

  1. Start position: Lie back onto floor or bench with knees bent and hands extended towards ceiling. Head should be in a neutral position with a space between chin and chest.
  2. Leading with the chin and chest towards the ceiling, contract the abdominal and raise shoulders off floor or bench, also, raise legs up towards ceiling and attempt to touch your hands to your feet.
  3.  Return to start position.

Plank
  1. Start by placing your forearms on the ground and forming a plank with your forearms and feet.
  2. Hold this position keeping your body parallel to the ground for the required time.

Burpees

  1. From a standing position, jump as high as possible and land down on your feet with your hands on the ground.
  2. Kick your feet back, For a moment you will be in a push up position and jump back up again as fast as possible.
  3. Repeat for the required repetitions.

That's it for now.
